Adaptive Technologies Available for Patron Use
 
  • I. Computer:
    • Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Pentium III PC with BIGPRINT software, including MS Office Suite, MS Encarta Encyclopedia, Atlas, and more reference software.
    II. Software:
    • ZoomText for Windows
    • IBM Home Page Reader for Internet Access
    III. Devices:
    • Ambassador reading machine
    The Gates Foundation 'Big Print' computer was donated by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.  The Ambassador reading machine, ZoomText, and IBM Home Page Reader were purchased with a grant to the Upper Peninsula Library for the Blind & People With Disabilities from the United Way of Dickinson County.  Pictured above is United Way Executive Director, Barb Messer.
