Patrons can use the library’s Oculus Rift Virtual Reality Headsets in the library at our two gaming computer stations. They are located behind the desk and can be checked out at anytime.
Patrons can use the scanner in the main circulation area. Holds copy up to legal size paper. Scans documents and photographic media and saves in common formats such as .jpeg and .pdf. Files can be saved on a patron’s flash drive, printed, or sent via a web based email program as an attachment.
The library offers a free public faxing services. The service is available at the Circulation Desk during the library’s open hours.
- A cover sheet is provided by the library at no cost
- Local and long distance (domestic) faxing is available.
- Faxes can be sent double sided.
- You must stay until fax is sent. All original documents are returned to the requestor.
The library has a copy machine that makes copies in black and white only. The cost is $.10 per page for black and white and $.20 for color copies. Special printing options such as 2 sided and collated are available. Please ask library staff for assistance. The copier uses only plain white standard copy paper. No special paper can be used such as card stock. Copier can print on 8 1/2″ X 11″, 8 1/2″ X 14″ and 11″ X 17″ size paper for legal and other document needs.
The library has computers available for public use on a first-come, first-served basis. The computers feature a wide range of software as well as the library’s online catalog, word processing, ancestry.com, and access to the Internet. Audio headsets are also available for use with the workstations.
Any person at the library can use an Internet workstation for as long as needed. Use of the computers is free for all, even those without library cards.
Wireless Internet Access
A wireless network (RADL) is available free-of-charge for the convenience of users with personal laptop computers, tablets and phones. The WiFi network does not require a password. WiFi users can use the wireless network without time limit.
Printing from the Internet workstations is available for black ($.10 per page) and color ($.20 per page) printing. The printing default is for black and double sided to save you money. Patrons can select the color option from the printing menu.
Laptops and iPads
The library circulates laptop computers for use in the library. They may be borrowed during normal open hours and will connect to the library’s wireless network. Wireless printing in both black and color are available. You must have a valid Escanaba Public Library card to “check-out” a laptop.
The Children’s areas offers Playaway Tablets for use in the library. Age appropriate educational and informational apps are pre-loaded on these devices.
