It’s Summer Reading Time at Peter White Public Library for patrons of all ages.  This year’s theme is Libraries Rock!

Youth Summer Reading events will be held at our temporary Children’s Branch at Westwood Mall (while our Children’s Room on the lower level is remodeled this summer) and other other locations including Lower Harbor Park and HOTplates here in town.  Checkout the complete Summer Reading Series of Events for youth and sign-up online to  log summer reading hours to earn free books.

The Adult Summer Reading Series of Events kicked off on June 4 with a day long ukelele extravaganza;  Ben Hassenger from Music is the Foundation conducted two workshops, introduced the DocuMonday film Mighty Uke, and led a group strum.  Programming will continue in July and August with an adult dulcimer workshop, numerous concerts to be held in the Huron Mountain Gallery, DocuMonday films focusing on music, and Bluesday Tuesday at the Ore Dock.  Attend any of these events and put your name in for a random prize drawing.

Have fun with Summer Reading whatever your age, and if you enjoy sharing pictures of your summer experiences on Instagram, enter our Summer Reading Instagram Contest for a chance to win a “The Book Was Better” t-shirt.
