Dear Library Lover,

Imagine a place where you can see a movie…surf the web…research your family history…entertain your children…read a brand new bestseller…attend a concert…and so much more without the cost of admission!

Does such a place exist? Of course—it’s the Peter White Public Library, serving the community for over 115 years and reaching over 300,000 people in the past year alone.

There’s no charge for our incredible variety of services. Although the programs are free for you to use, they cost the Library money that isn’t completely provided by state and local taxes.

Since PWPL moved into the beautifully renovated and expanded building in 2000, attendance has more than doubled. The number of cardholders has increased significantly and computer use has soared. However, our budget has not matched this rate of growth.

That’s why I am asking you to support the Peter White Public Library with a gift to our annual fund. Your support will help us provide the collections and programs that ensure the education of our children and create a brighter future for our community.

Over the course of a year, the Peter White Public Library patrons check out more than 350,000 items—everything from books, magazines, and newspapers to audio-books, movies on DVD and tape, music compact disks and more.

The Library isn’t just about books—it’s about people, too.  Peter White Public Library is the heart of our community, a place where people meet to exchange ideas over a cup of coffee, pick up the latest novel, send email to friends and family, study together, view an art exhibit, or attend a concert, a film or author reading. Every day we welcome almost 1,000 people through our doors.
