The Peter White Public Library will begin its third year of  PRIME TIME Family Reading Time, a family literacy program focused on storytelling and discussion, in partnership with the Michigan Humanities Council.  The program targets families with children ages 6 to 12 who are having difficulty reading, helping parents and children become enthusiastic library users. PRIME TIME features award-winning children's literature to stimulate discussion about humanities themes and issues encountered in everyday life, led each week by a storyteller and scholar.  There are separate pre-reading activities for families with preschool children (ages 3-5).  The PRIME TIME program includes a nutritious lunch, door prizes, and opportunities to learn about library resources.  The program is free to 25 families in the Peter White Public Library service area.  All families will be offered library cards, and transportation is available for those in need. Six PRIME TIME sessions will be held at the library from 10:30 am to Noon beginning September 22 through October 27.  Call the library at 226-4318 for more information about the program.
