GIFT
AND DONATION
POLICY
The Peter White
Public Library Board will not accept donations that are not outright
gifts. The Peter White
Public Library Board of Trustees reserves the rights to accept or
reject any
gift or donation, if the gift or donation is not in the
Library’s best
interest. The Library
Director is responsible for accepting or rejecting any gift or
donation. Donors
have the right to appeal the Library Director’s decision.
Such an appeal must be sent in writing to the
Peter White
Public Library Board of Trustees within 60 days of the Library
Director’s
decision. The Peter White Public Library Board of Trustees will respond
to the
donor concerning gifts or donations, in writing, no more than 30 days
after
official Board action is taken on the gift or donation. The Library
gratefully
accepts gifts of cash, securities, bequests in wills, charitable
remainder
trusts, life insurance, and life income gifts. These gifts can be
designated by
the donor for purposes that will enhance the programs of services of
the
Library or can be given without designation. Undesignated
gifts of cash that are donated to the Library will be used in the
following
ways. Gifts of $99.00 or less shall be used to purchase new materials
for the
Library collection. Gifts of $100.00 or more shall be directed to the
Peter
White Public Library Development Fund. The Peter White
Public Library accepts gifts of money, books, video materials, audio
materials,
pamphlets, artwork, periodicals and other materials with the
understanding that
such gifts become the exclusive property of the Peter White Public
Library. |
