Time: 4:00 pm

Three gentle dogs will be available every Wednesday for kids to read aloud to. These dogs are trained and registered with Therapy Dogs International and Superiorland Pet Partners. Children can gain confidence and build reading skills by reading at their own pace to a very loving, non-judgemental, and attentive listener.

* 500: The Reformation, Part 1500: The Reformation, Part 1

Time: 6:00 pm

The Houghton Seventh Day Adventist Church invites the public to look at the 500 year history of the Reformation with a film followed by a discussion. Session 1: "The Reformation" – On October 31 in 1517, a priest in a small town in Germany changed Western civilization forever. As Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the Castle Church door, the Protestant Reformation began. Five hundred years later, is the Reformation over, or is there still work to be done? Join John Bradshaw on location across Europe in the opening fil of the "It Is Written 500" series.

The Houghton Seventh Day Adventist Church invites the public to look at the 500 year history of the Reformation with a film followed by a discussion. Session 2 : "The Celtic Connection" – All around the world on March 17, people celebrate the life and work of St. Patrick in Ireland. How did this small town man become a global icon, and how is he connected to the Reformation? Join John Bradshaw on location in Ireland to learn more about St. Patrick.

"Taming the Rain: Landscape Solutions to Stormwater Management" will be presented by Quincy Higgins Arney. She will introduce new concepts, design tricks, and construction techniques that focus on how to slow the flow of stormwater runoff. Quincy is the University Gardener at MTU, and this program is sponsored by the Keweenaw Garden Club. Everyone is invited to attend.

Join John Bradshaw on location in England and explore the life of William Tyndale, the man who translated the Bible into English.

Session 4: "Rome and Reformation" – When the Protestant Reformation challenged the authority of the established church 500 years ago, it took on what had become the most powerful institution in the history of Western civilization.
