Keweenaw Garden Club: Lightning Talks and Social
Posted on January 10, 2018 – 9:15 pm
The Portage Lake District Library will host the Keweenaw Garden Club for an evening of lightning talks and social.
This is the time of year when many gardeners engage in “armchair gardening, which entails curling up with a cup of tea and a stack of seed and plant catalogues to plan their garden for the upcoming growing season. To inspire people as they armchair garden this winter, six speakers will give short talks on great gardening or garden design ideas.
The presenters and their topics are as follows:
Mike Schira, Installing an Asparagus Patch
Ken Ropp, Cutting-Flower Bed for Flower Arrangements and Proven Conference Winners
Maria Janowiak, Garden Tool Favorites
Sarah Kuhl, Solarization
Tom Lennington, Rain-Barrel, Drip Irrigation for Your Home Garden
Quincy Higgins-Arne, Ten Favorite Plant Picks and Tips Using Them
There will be time to socialize and talk with the presenters afterwards.
The Keweenaw Garden Club was established by and for gardening enthusiasts. They have presentations at the Portage Lake District Library on the third Monday of each month September through May. Those who are interested in learning more about the club can visit https://sites.google.com/site/keweenawgardenclub/.
