Alger County Seed Library Debut
Want to try your hand at seed saving with heirloom seeds? The library is the place for you. We have obtained and cataloged a wide array of Heirloom seeds that are available to library cardholders to "check out." With so many people returning to gardening for both enjoyment and necessity, the library has created a central seed library for our patrons. Resources for seedsaving and preserving your harvest as well as non-GMO information will all be available. Some limits do apply, please stop in today for more information.
Get Your Favorite Magazines Online ! - Zinio has arrived
Munising Schools Public Library is one of eighteen Superiorland libraries that have subscribed to a new digital magazines service. Zinio for Great Lakes Digital Libraries is available for your use. There are 136 magazine titles with simultaneous access to each issue as it is published. Patrons will go to the website (URL below); register using an email address & library borrower's barcode; search our shared library collection of magazine titles; and, by clicking on a magazine cover, subscribe to the title. Each time a new issue is published, an email alert will let you know that the issue is available. If you want to use a mobile device to read the magazine, you will need to download a Zinio app. The Zinio Button on the lower left side will bring you to the website or:

Searching
for Ancestors? - AlgerRoots meets in Library
Alger
Roots, a newly formed Geneological group is meeting each 4th Wednesday
at 6:00 pm in the Public Library.
The group is comprised of many resourceful individuals, who are coming
together to share their talents, and provide an avenue to learn more of
the History and Families in the Alger County Area, and make information
more readily available. Using Family
Search to search for Ancestors usually gets results. There are
many sites that have records,
but Family Search is free. If you are inside the Library, you can use
Ancestry.com free to search for your Family tree.
Also check out our
other links to genealogical research pages on the Internet by visiting
the Geneological
links Page which is being updated on a regular basis. Benefit the
Library with your Internet Searches
Using GoodSearch.com to search the
Internet will benefit the Library. Every time you do,
money goes to Munising Public Library. We hope you'll give it a try and
support a cause
that you care about. The site is powered by Yahoo!, so you'll get the
same quality search
results that you're used to. What's unique is that they have developed
a way to direct money
to the Library with every click. Please spread the word to your friends
and family.
