Winter Hours take Effect Sept. 6
The library will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 5. Winter hours will begin Sept. 6.
Antique Appraisals with Mark Moran
Mark Moran, well known antique appraiser from Antiques Roadshow fame will be at the library on Sept. 21 from 4 - 7 pm. The cost per item is $10 and Preregistration is required. Please call the library for more information and to register.

Native American Treaties Traveling Exhibit at Library 9/6 - 9/18
Be Sure to make time and view this amazing traveling exhibit that the Munising Library was able to reserve for 12 days prior to its display at NMU. A powerful collection from the Clarke Historical Library at Central Michigan University, this traveling exhibit is entitled "Native Treaties - Shared Rights". The exhibit will run from Sept. 6 through Sept. 18.

Storytime for Preschoolers continues on Mondays at 10am
TaleSpinners Storytime continues for pre-school aged children and their caregivers every Monday morning at 10 am. Join Ms. Penny and/or Mrs. Malone for great fun, stories, music and crafts. Programs run about 35-45 minutes.
Get Your Favorite Magazines Online ! Zinio for Great Lakes Digital Libraries is available for your use. There are about 100 magazine titles with simultaneous access to each issue as it is published. Patrons go to the website (URL below); register using an email address & library borrower's barcode; search our shared library collection of magazine titles; and, by clicking on a magazine cover, subscribe to the title. Searching for Ancestors? - AlgerRoots meets in Library---Alger Roots, a newly formed Geneological group is meeting each last Wednesday at 10:30 am in the Public Library. The group is comprised of many resourceful individuals, who are coming together to share their talents, and provide an avenue to learn more of the History and Families in the Alger County Area, and make information more readily available. Using Family Search to search for Ancestors usually gets results. There are many sites that have records, but Family Search is free. If you are inside the Library, you can use Ancestry.com free to search for your Family tree. Also check out our other links to genealogical research pages on the Internet by visiting the Geneological links Page which is being updated on a regular basis.
