Library History
The Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library has a rich history of providing library services to the community dating back to the 1870s. Our current building located in downtown Ishpeming was built in 1904 with funding from Andrew Carnegie.

Local author John Voelker was a life-long ICPL patron and it was because of his book, "Anatomy of a Murder" that the Ishpeming Library was involved in the film adaptation of the same name starring Jimmy Stewart.
Please consider a tax deductible donation to support our library. You can donate online through a safe and secure connection or you may send a check or money order to 317 N. Main st. Ishpeming, MI 49849
Please let us know if the donation is going toward something specific like the renovation campaign or if it is a general donation. Thank you!!
The Library Board meets the third Thursday of each month at 7pm. Meetings are open to the public.
