Using Your Card
Upon obtaining a library card, you may borrow materials from the library and request interlibrary loans. You are responsible for any and all items checked out on your card, so be sure to notify the library if your card is lost or stolen.
The replacement library card fee is $2.00 which must be paid at the time the new card is issued. This fee is nonrefundable even if the original card is found.
To apply for a library card you must be a resident of the City of Ishpeming, Ishpeming Township, Champion, Ely, Humboldt or Tilden Township. Please bring proof of current address and a valid I.D. when you apply. You may obtain an application at the front desk or download it
Your PIN by default is the year of your birth. The four digit YEAR only.
If you would like to change your PIN you can do so by going
New Adult Nonfiction and Fiction: 14 days
Books: 21 days
Audio Books: 21 days
DVDs: 7 days
Fines are 10 cents a day for each item overdue.
Your library privileges will be suspended if your fines exceed $5.00

We have computers with internet access available to the public as well as free wi-fi
Black & white printing: 10 cents per page
**Beginning January 1, 2017 this will increase to 25 cents per page**
Color Printing: $1.00 per page
Copies: 25 cents per page

Test proctoring is available and currently free of charge.

The library is a cell phone free building. Please be considerate of other patrons and take your calls outside. We ask users of our library to please be considerate of others while going about their activities.
Children eight years old and under are not to be left unattended.
For safety reasons there are no exceptions to this policy.
