Libraries Rock! is the theme for this year’s Summer Reading Program.
Our program will kick-off on Monday, June 18th with a party here at the library from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. We’ll have free hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream, lemonade, music, balloon animals and face painting. Face painting will be from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. We hope to see you at the party!
If you can’t make it to the party, you can still register for Summer Reading. See the details below.
2018 Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Details
The program runs for six weeks beginning Monday, June 18th through Monday, July 30th.
Monday, July 30th will be the last day to claim your rewards. Registration will end on Friday, July 20th.
Sign up begins the first day of the program. Children birth through middle school will receive a bag, reading log, bookmark and a FREE book- just for joining! Bring your parents if you can, but you can still sign up if they can’t make it.
New this year will be our weekly visits to the K.I. Sawyer Community Center on Thursdays from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. beginning Thursday, June 21st. Children will be able to register for the Summer Reading Program (through Thursday, July 19th), enjoy special activities and claim their free prizes each week through Thursday, July 26th.
Earning prizes is easy! Read for ten periods of 15 minutes each, get a reward, and put your name in for that week’s prize drawing. You can earn two rewards each week, but keep reading because there is no limit to the number of times you can put your name in for the prize drawings.
We’ll call you if you win one of the weekly drawings.
Adults & Teens have a program too. For every book you read, you can put your name in the prize drawings. We will draw for prizes on Tuesday, July 31st.
See our Summer Reading Calendar of Events for all programming details. You will find one in your Summer Reading bag when you sign up. They are also available at the Circulation Desk.
We can’t wait to read with you this summer!
