Every November thousands of people across the world challenge themselves to write a 50,000 word book in just 30 days. This year, the Escanaba Public Library invites the public to dust off that book idea they’ve had and join them as they celebrate National Novel Writing Month with a series of events that will empower and help writers in the area.
On November 1 at 7:00 p.m. the Escanaba Public Library will be hosting a kick-off party, where those interested in the NaNoWriMo can come with their laptops or notebooks and begin their writing journey with the support of other writers. Bay College Writing Instructor Nanci Love will be on hand to help writers with their problems and the library will have a collection of books, worksheets, and cheat sheets for authors to use.
Grab your notebook, laptop, or tablet, head down to the Library between 6-8 pm, and join other writers as we challenge ourselves to write 50,000 words in 30 days! Occurring on Thursdays in November (excluding Thanksgiving), these events are open to anyone who wants a place to write. We will have coffee and tea, writing worksheets, books, and other resources available to help you in your quest.
Stay for the whole 2 hours or pop in when you can!
LEGO Club welcomes all children (and their parents) who love LEGOS, a sense of adventure, and being creative! Occurring on every 2nd Saturday of the month, we will explore different themes each month ranging from Super Heroes to Space!
Please bring a box or bag of LEGOS for your child to use.
At the end of each LEGO club there will be a drawing for prizes!
