The library isn't open 24/7 and we recognize that you may find a need to place a hold or check out a digital item during all hours of the day! If you are not already a card holder, this temporary virtual card (which is active for 1 month) is a perfect solution until you can visit us in person and receive a permanent card.

If you don't already have a library card, you can sign-up for a temporary, digital library card that will give you access to thousands of eBooks, digital audiobooks, magazines, movies, language learning tools and more, as well as allow you to place up to two holds in our Card Catalog. After you register, make sure to write down your new account number immediately. You will need that number, along with the PIN you create, to access our digital resources or to place holds in our card catalog. Your account number will be emailed to you, but it may take some time.

Temporary cards are free to all who register and are active for 1 month. Temporary cards must be converted to permanent cards in order to checkout physical materials from the library. Residents and taxpayers of Dickinson County can make an appointment to make their temporary card permanent for free! Those outside of Dickinson County can make an appointment to make a temporary card permanent for a fee of $35/year. Please reach out to the library any questions or to set up an appointment to update your account.

If you already have a library card, you can access all of these resources with your barcode and pin number. If you have an email on file, you can reset your pin using the link in our Card Catalog. If you have trouble creating an account or accessing our resources, please call or visit your local branch or reach out to us at dcl@dcl-lib.org.
