How To Get A Library Card

Library cards are available free of charge to residents of Sault Ste. Marie, residents of contractual townships, students of Sault Area Public Schools, and individuals enrolled at Lake Superior State University or Bay Mills Community College.

Applicants for library cards must present a valid picture ID and proof of local residency or enrollment. Children under the age of 14 must have a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian complete the application process. Library cards are issued for a one-year period with yearly privilege renewal. The card is necessary to check out any materials from the library.
