Aug. 1, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friends of Bayliss Library will hold a used book sale on Ashmun Street near Dawson Street. Support your branch of the Superior District Library
Aug. 1, 8-9:30 p.m. Soo Film Festival at the Soo Theatre, will feature the 1980 documentary "A Difference of Rights," co-sponsored by Bayliss Public Library. Filmmaker Bill Blanchard will be there for a Q & A. There is an admission fee of $5.00. Bill Blanchard's portraits of some of the film's participants will be on view.
Aug. 5, 12-4 p.m. Teen Graffiti Art Contest at the Sault Arts Festival, outside City Hall. Teens may paint a 4 foot square board. Younger children can do chalk pictures. The boards will be on display at the library after the event.
Aug. 5, 5 p.m. Cyclist and author Michael Secrest will present a videoconferenced program at three Michigan libraries on his book The Guy on the Bike: Lessons in Life I Learned While Riding My Bike.
Aug. 9, 1 p.m. Family Movie, Call 632-9331 for the title of a PG animated movie. Free movie. Popcorn by donation. Shown through Movie Licensing USA.

Aug. 12, 7 p.m. Dr. James Walker will present a program on "Secrets in Great Works of Art."
Aug. 14, 7 p.m. Detroit poet and musician M.L. Liebler and his group will present "The Beatles Forever: A Short Story with Music." There will be a sing-along and lots of Beatles music performed to commemorate their visit to America 50 years ago.
Aug. 16, 1 p.m. Saturday Matinee. Call 632-9331 for the title of a new PG-13 movie. Free movie. Popcorn by donation. Shown through Movie Licensing USA.
Aug. 19, 7 p.m. Chippewa County Genealogical Society will hold a free, public research session.
Aug. 26, 1:45-2:45 p.m. Mobile Office Hours for Congressman Dan Benishek. A caseworker will meet with constituents.
Aug. 26, 6-8 p.m. Sault Community Yarn-Workers Guild will meet. Bring your yarn crafts and join the group.
