By logging in with a library barcode and PIN number patrons may:
see what they have checked out, check item due dates, renew some items
and place and cancel holds on materials in Bayliss Public Library or
from one of the other 30 participating PII
(Patron-Initiated Interloan) libraries. Patrons may also place holds on
items not found in the local card catalog by using MeLCat, a statewide
resource sharing system.
To log in, click on Search the Catalog tab at the top of any page on this website.
In the catalog page that opens, look at the top right for the boxes
'Account' and 'PIN'. Enter the library barcode from your library card,
and your PIN number. If you do not know your PIN number, it is usually
the last four digits of your phone number. Contact the library if your
PIN number does not work. You may also change your PIN number; see User PIN Change, below, for more information, or contact the library.
'My Account' and after you have logged in, select the process you would like to use:
- Review My Account
- User PIN Change
- Renew My Materials
- Request Address Change
Click on Review My Account to see what
materials you have checked out and the due dates of materials. You will
also see what titles you have on hold. To suspend a hold click on the
calendar gadget to the right of the Suspension Start Date box to choose the start date. Click on the calendar gadget by the Suspension End Date to set the end date. Click on Edit Hold.
This feature is useful if you will be unavailable to pick up a reserve
title for a period of time and allows you to keep your place on the
Reserve List (queue).
To renew a title, click on Renew My Materials. Enter all 14 digits of your library barcode and your PIN. Click List Charged Items or hit enter. Check the box of each title you want to renew or click on Renew All. Click on Renew Selected Items. You will get a message showing what items were renewed and what items were not renewed.
Please Note: VHS and
DVD videos cannot be renewed on-line or over the phone. These items
must be seen by library staff before being renewed. Items that are overdue also may not be renewed on-line.
User PIN Change allows you to change your PIN. Click on User PIN Change and enter your library barcode number and current PIN. Enter your new PIN twice. Click on Change PIN.
To request a change in your address, click on Request Address Change.
Enter your e-mail address, your NEW address and your telephone number
in the appropriate boxes. Enter your library barcode number and click Send. This sends a request to library staff to change your address.
