Fun Stuff to Try!

SPARK IN THE DARK

You will need:

--Wintergreen Life Savers-must be wintergreen and must contain sugar

--A very dark room-a windowless bathroom is great.  Use a mirror or a partner to watch for the reaction.

Carry the Life Savers into the dark room and let your eyes adjust to the dark.  with your mouth open, crunch a Life Saver with your teeth.  Look for green sparks!  The light, called triboluminescence, is caused when the sugar crystal fractures. To learn more,  click here.
